EVnSteven's Major Win: Included in Wake Tech's EVSE Technician Program

Being chosen for North Carolina’s Wake Tech Community College EVSE Technician Program is a major achievement for our small, Canadian, self-funded startup. It validates our vision of using existing infrastructure to create simple, cost-effective EV charging solutions.

EVnSteven was selected by Mark R. Smith, the course developer and instructor, who holds a master’s in electrical engineering. He recognized that our app addresses a gap in the industry by providing affordable monitoring for Level 1 and Level 2 unmanaged EVSEs—essential in locations where custom systems are either unavailable or too costly.

This recognition by Wake Tech, a leader in EVSE training, is a significant milestone for EVnSteven. It shows the real-world impact of our app, which will now be part of the course to train future EVSE technicians.

We’re proud to be included and excited to see how graduates use EVnSteven in the field. Congrats to the new EVSE Technicians 🎓graduating from Wake Technical Community College! Read about of the first round of Wake Tech EVSE Graduates

Wake Tech’s EVSE Field Technician Program

Wake Tech is leading a statewide program to train technicians in EV charging station installation and maintenance. Supported by the Siemens Foundation’s EVeryone Charging Forward Initiative, the program equips students with skills in electrical safety, EV charger installation, and troubleshooting, ensuring equitable access to high-demand jobs in North Carolina.

With the state aiming to exceed 80,000 zero-emission vehicles by 2025, the need for trained EVSE technicians is growing rapidly. For more details: Technicians Trained in EV Charging Stations Ready for Workforce
